Japan

I went there in October 2005, alone !

Here is a selection of my favorite photos of this stay ...

My bedroom in  Tokyo, quite  typical ...

... was in the old part of the town !

In Tokyo, we can also see torii and shrine ...

No need to read the  menu :just see plastic dish ans choose !

As there are no room, we can see "level  parking" !

The (hight) building of gouvernment, in Shinjuku ...

... and the nice view of  Tokyo, when you are at the last floor  ...

... which is "only" the 54th !! Impossible the see the end of the town.....

Indeed, this is hight ^_^ ...

Here is the bridge from mainland to Enoshima island !!

There is a washing coin fountain ...

... a shinto shrine (where god's body is  a  mirror) ...

... and a door  (Torii),. This is the right time to make a wish  !

Then we go to another famous place : Kamakura !

This is  a giant (bouddhist) prayer mill ...

... in order to be as big as this  Bouddha ?

Back to Tokyo at the  Meiji Jingu, a famous shrine ...

... where we can see lots of sake's barrils !! Hips ...

Little walk in  Shibuya, young and fashion district ...

... and so so  crowdy, with giant screen on buildings !

Go to Edo museum, which talk about the "new" capital history  ...

... from creation to this days. Edo is the old name of  Tokyo !

Nice view of  Tpkyo by night, at the top of  Roppongi Hills (74 floors) ...

Now in  Kyoto, we can see its tower ...

... then go to  Kinkakuji, or golden temple ...

... and the parc around ! Very nice place ...

... as zen garden, near that place !

So nice folding partition, but hard to read !!

.The main door of the garden : impressive !

In Nara, the old  capital,  luckily not destroyed by war  ...

... with a traditionnal parc and small wooden bridge.

It's hard to be a baker there !! Poor rice cake ^_^ ...

Global view of one of the most famous castle of  Japan : Himeji ....

... also named the " white heron", because of its color and elegance.

A game scene : you have to associate thoses painted shells by pair !

Nice fish,  but this is not an engraving !

Boddidharma's paint, and some swords' blade under ...

... and armors ! Really nice, but so heavy !!

A artwork of the castle ...

... and the real one ! Both are made in wood only !!.
